Atmosphere-Vegetation-Soil Interaction: from diurnal to climate scales

The aim of the course is to get acquainted to the main interactions between the atmosphere and surface processes controlled by the vegetation and soil conditions. In that respect, we will lecture which are the main feedback loops influencing the evaporation and how the carbon cycle is controlled by atmospheric and surface changes due to climate perturbations. The course format is based on introductory lectures and practical exercises on numerical exercises to learn the sensitivity of the atmosphere-vegetation-soil system to atmosphere and surface conditions. The practical session will end up with an open discussion among the participants and a final workshop presenting their main results based on the practical numerical experiments.
